Listen, Do You Want to Know a Secret?

JC had a secret. It was a secret that made him smile. No, it made him laugh, giggle, chuckle, chortle, titter. Variously and at the most inopportune moments.
And even though it was his secret, he didn't know what it meant. So he continued to blush and stammer, not out of shyness but out of embarrassment or elation. Elated embarrassment. Embarrassed elation. Whatever it was, it made him nearly giddy.
And it made him either impossible to be around, or a delight, depending on your point of view.
Justin just rolled his eyes a lot. He'd seen JC like this before over the years. But never this bad.
Chris just seemed to be inspired, egged on by JC's behavior. Like it was a challenge to be weirder, stranger, more hyper than JC.
Joey was curious. That was it. Curious. He wasn't always good at figuring his friends out, but he always wanted to, always tried.
Lance's reaction--well, he didn't have much of a chance to react. Since whenever Lance was in the room, JC would blush, stammer, and leave. And smile. Because he had a secret.
When he did manage to stay in the room, JC definitely noticed how quiet Lance was. He noticed everything about Lance, really. The quiet made his smile waver. But only momentarily. Because he would remember and the elation would just bubble up in him again.
He's not sure how it happened. Or why. But it did. And he's glad. Of course, he'd be gladder if he knew Lance was glad, too.
It had just taken a moment or two to change JC's life. To open up a new world of possibilities. A brush, a touch. A warm wet tingle.
And then a secret. A joyous, happy secret.
And not a clue what to do about it.
He'd ask Lance, but what would he say?
Then, suddenly, he knew exactly what to say. JC grabbed his keys and drove to Lance's house. He waited on the doorstep, running his fingers through his unruly curls until Lance opened the door.
JC looked at Lance, barefoot and delicious in the shadows created by the light at the side of the door. He watched Lance's eyes slide sideways, away from him in uncertainty.
"I want to do it again," JC said, softly, and Lance's eyes snapped back to his.
And there, in the swimming, shadowy light of the doorway, each took a step closer to the other, and they kissed.

The sentence I heard was: Make it clear that they kissed each other, without saying it.
